# Legacy popups

> Your popups from the old popup editor keep showing until you replace them with on-site messages

On-site messages replace Popups. Popups you made in the old editor keep showing to visitors exactly as before, but new popups can't be created, and existing ones can't be edited or duplicated.

## See your popups

Go to **Popups (legacy)**. Each popup is listed with:

* its text, so you can tell them apart
* the page type it shows on, and its segment
* when it opens (after a delay, as the page loads, or on exit intent, which on popups works on desktop only) and how often
* its status: **Live**, **Paused**, **Scheduled**, **Ended** or **Never published**

From the list you can:

* **Pause** a popup, or **Resume** a paused one
* **Delete** a popup. It stops showing straight away and can't be brought back.
* Download the email addresses an email sign-up popup collected. If you delete one of these popups, you're offered the download straight afterwards.

## Replace a popup

1. Find a [template](https://docs.pureclarity.com/features/on-site-messages/templates.md) for the popup's job. For example, a free delivery popup becomes **Free delivery progress**, and a sale or promotion becomes **Promo code** or **Flash sale**, with an image block if the popup was an image.
2. Create the message and give it the same audience: the popup's page type becomes **Pages**, and its segment stays the same. See [Create a message](https://docs.pureclarity.com/features/on-site-messages/creating-a-message.md).
3. [Preview it on your store](https://docs.pureclarity.com/features/on-site-messages/creating-a-message.md#preview-and-test), then publish it.
4. On **Popups (legacy)**, pause the popup. Once you're happy with the message, delete the popup.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Email sign-up isn't available in on-site messages yet. Until it is, keep any sign-up popup you rely on running.
